Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures have announced that they are teaming up to produce a rebooted Terminator movie to be released on June 26, 2015.  This would be the first in a planned stand-alone trilogy with Laeta Kalorgridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) attached to write the screenplay. Paul Giamatti (John Dies at the End, Win Win) is joining the cast of Downton Abbey season four.  He’ll be playing the playboy brother of Cora and uncle to Mary and Edith.  The new season will air in the U.S. on PBS on Jan. 5, 2014. (TVLine)

The first still photos from Curse of Chucky have made their way online.  The sixth film in the Child’s Play franchise hits Blu-ray and DVD sometime in the fall.  The movie is directed by Child’s Play creator Don Mancini and stars Fiona Dourif, A Martinez, Danielle Bisutti and Brennan Elliott. Brad Dourif returns to provide the voice of Chucky. (ShockTillYouDrop)

Curse of Chucky still

William Fichtner recently revealed in an interview who he’ll be playing in the upcoming Ninja Turtles reboot.  When asked about his role in the movie, he answered, “I play Shredder. It is cool. It’s one of those things that came along where I thought, ‘Really? Let me think about this for a minute.’ [Laughs] Then I was like, ‘Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.’ I’m very glad that it worked out, I’m really glad that I’m doing it.” (Huffington Post Canada)

Sony Pictures is in final negotiations to obtain the rights to the 1990’s cartoon, Captain Planet and the Planeteers.  Mark Gordon, Don Murphy and Susan Montford will produce the live-action adaptation. (Hollywood Reporter)

Jonathan Levine’s (50/50, Warm Bodies) first feature-length film, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, is finally getting a U.S. theatrical release after years of collecting dust.  The horror film, which stars Amber Heard, will be available on VOD on September 6 and hit theaters on October 11. The first official behind-the-scenes photo of Kristen Bell on set of the Veronica Mars movie has popped up online.  The movie, which was funded through Kickstarter, is directed by series creator Rob Thomas and stars Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowell, Krysten Ritter and Ken Marino. Channing Tatum recently spoke about his involvement in the Wachowski’s upcoming sci-fi flick, Jupiter Ascending.  He said the shoot is a tough one with very little digital stuntmen involved making it a challenge to pull off all the physical aspects of the movie.  He also spoke about his character, “I’m a splice, splices are essentially built in a test tube.  I’m a hybrid wolf and human.  And half albino, so I’m a little defective.” (Collider)

Liam Neeson is closing a deal with EuropaCorp to star in Taken 3.  It’s expected that deals will also be made with Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen to reprise their roles for the production which is aiming for a February start date. (Deadline)

Vin Diesel took to his Facebook to infer that a superhero role might be in his future.  He wrote, “Marvel has requested a meeting… no idea what for… haha, you probably know better than me…” (Vin Diesel)

Jeff Pruitt, a stunt coordinator on Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, posted a video on YouTube that shows never-before-seen behind the scenes footage of season two of the show.  The video shows off fight choreography and visual effects sequences as well as appearances from Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz, Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green.
