AMAZEBALLS – [uh-maze-bahl-s] adjective. something which is so amazing, you can’t just say it’s amazing so you say “amazeballs.”
Stallone and Schwarzenegger together in a glossy looking B-grade action flick? Oh, I’m so there! Watching this trailer gives me such joy, it simply can only be described as “amazeballs.” I shamelessly love The Expendables movies, not only for the really fun action and interplay between a bunch of big action stars, but because they bring Stallone and Schwarzenegger together on the big screen. Their shared presence on screen is something I’ve dreamt of for a long time and now that Schwarzenegger has got back into the acting business, it seems the two stars are making up for lots of lost opportunities (Schwarzenegger will be joining Stallone again in The Expendables 3). As far as I’m concerned, if these two guys want to continue making movies together until they can no longer do so, I’m totally in favor of that and will happily show up opening weekend to see them.
Escape Plan, formerly titled The Tomb, has Sly as an expert prison breaker-out-of-er. He is put inside a new, high-tech facility of his own design in order to try to break out of the prison to test if it is actually escape proof. But he soon finds out that the people who hired him to go into the megaprison want him to stay there. Now he must escape with the help of Schwarzenegger, who plays a convict in the prison. The movie is directed by Mikael Håfström (The Rite, 1408) and features the likes of Jim Caviezel, Vincent D’Onofrio, Vinnie Jones and Amy Ryan. The movie hits theaters on October 18.
