Producer Avi Lerner has stated that, if The Expendables 2 does well, they are eyeing four actors to potentially join The Expendables 3.  Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford and Wesley Snipes were all named and Lerner stated that they have Nicolas Cage for the potential sequel.  (IGN)

John Barrowman (Torchwood, Doctor Who) has joined the cast of the CW’s upcoming series, Arrow, based upon the DC character Green Arrow.  Barrowman’s role is being kept under wraps but is described as being a well-dressed, mysterious and wealthy man who is an acquaintance of Oliver Queen’s family. A poster for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s new movie, The Last Stand, is now online.  The action film will be released on January 18, 2013. (Ain’t It Cool)

Director Joe Carnahan took to Twitter recently to tweet that his take on a new Daredevil film is likely dead in the water, “Think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids.  We shall see.  Time is NOT on anyone’s side.”  The rights to the character revert back to Marvel if FOX doesn’t have a movie in production by October. Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures have set a release date of May 1, 2015 for The Avengers 2.  The film, which currently doesn’t have an official title, will be written and directed by Joss Whedon. (Comingsoon.net)

Universal Pictures has moved around their release schedule a little bit to accommodate a release date for Kick-Ass 2 (June 28, 2013) by moving R.I.P.D., a horror action-comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, back three weeks to July 19, 2013.  Universal has once again moved the Carl Rinsch directed 47 Ronin, which stars Keanu Reeves, back 10 months to December 25, 2013 as well. The first official still from the upcoming action film, The Tomb, shows Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger together on screen.  The film also stars Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Jim Caviezel, Amy Ryan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Vinnie Jones and Sam Neill. (The Wall Street Journal)

Despite recent rumored news stating that Kristen Stewart would not be involved in a Snow White & The Huntsman sequel, Universal has stated that while the sequel centers on the Huntsman, Stewart could still appear in the film as Snow White. (The L.A. Times)

The four major TV networks are in a bidding war for Michael J. Fox’s return to television.  The single-camera series would be based off of Fox’s own life and is aiming for a 2013 launch. (Vulture)

Disney has halted the production of the new untitled stop-motion animated film from Henry Selick (Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas) which was scheduled for Oct. 4, 2013.  Selick is now allowed to shop the property around to other studios. (Variety)

  1. I’m so pumped to see Arnold on the big screen again, it’s pretty damn exciting. Prison movies are always awesome, prison movies with Stallone and Arnold… win.
