Joe Dante’s long dormant film, The Hole (from back in 2009), is finally being released in the U.S.  It will hit DVD on Sept. 25th and may receive a limited theatrical run before that. (ShockTillYouDrop)

The poster for The Man with the Iron Fists, which stars and is directed by RZA, has been released online.  The kung fu action film was written by RZA and Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) and stars Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung and Pam Grier.  A red-band trailer for the film is now online and can be found at the link. In 2014, Marvel Studios will release Captain America 2 as well as the soon to be (officially) announced Guardians of the Galaxy.  It is expected that the film will lead up to The Avengers 2 and will feature Thanos, the character featured in one of the post-credits scenes in The Avengers. French electropop group M83 will be scoring Oblivion for director Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy).  The sci-fi tale stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Zoe Bell, Andrea Riseborough and Melissa Leo. (Indiewire)

Despite rumors to the contrary, the entire cast of NBC’s Community will return for the fourth season, including Chevy Chase, Jim Rash and Ken Joeng.  Creator Dan Harmon was replaced by new showrunners David Guarascio and Moses Port (Just Shoot Me).  There will also be a Comic-Con panel for the show with Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs and Danny Pudi all in attendance.  (Deadline)

Universal Studios has announced the Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection Blu-ray set which will collect Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, Phantom of the Opera and Creature from the Black Lagoon.  All the films will be digitally restored from high resolution film elements in perfect picture and sound for the first time ever, with Creature from the Black Lagoon provided in 2D Blu-ray as well as Blu-ray 3D. Executive producer Sara Colleton says that Dexter will come to an end in 2013 with the 8th and final season.  She said that she originally planned on it being only seven seasons but stated that they have plenty of great material to last for an eighth without stretching the story too far.  She wants the show to go out while its still on top and the quality is still being brought. Charlie Sheen has joined the cast of the Robert Rodriguez directed sequel, Machete Kills.  Sheen will be playing the President of the United States in the film. (Comingsoon.net)

Darren Lemke (Jack the Giant Killer) is set to write the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? film adaptation.  Jennifer Lopez will produce and is likely to star in the film which is said to be a cross between National Treasure and The Thomas Crown Affair. (Heat Vision)

A photo of Gemma Arterton from Neil Jordan’s new vampire drama Byzantium.  Arterton co-stars alongside Saoirse Ronan (Hanna, The Lovely Bones), with the remaining cast that includes Jonny Lee Miller (Hackers) , Caleb Landry Jones (X-men: First Class) and Sam Riley (Brighton Rock).  (ShockTillYouDrop)

Jena Malone appears to be in the running for the pivotal role of Johanna Mason in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.  Her character is described as possessing “a wicked ability to murder.”  (Entertainment Weekly)

Curse of Chucky, which marks the sixth film in the Child’s Play franchise, is being made through Universal Home Entertainment.  The direct-to-DVD title will be written and directed by creator Don Mancini with Brad Dourif returning to voice Chucky.  It is expected that the film will skew more scary in tone than its previous, more comedic sequels.   2. Really interested on what will happen with Community, I am not a huge follower but I watch it on hulu whenever I can and do enjoy it a lot, and the scripts are really good.. hopefully they will continue that way. I hear one of the show runners talking and was pretty happy on wht he said.

    I think Jena Malone is a pretty good actress, I hope they continue doing a good job for catching fire, I was relly impressed by Hunger games, but kind of affraid that the writer director is not going to be the same person.
